Senior project day 8 

This morning I woke up and started experimenting with prints again. I was determined to figure out some of the issues I came across yesterday. Using the scanner, I was still not able to make the print be the actual size of the paper. No matter what paper size I loaded into the tray, the printer would scale the image down and it would just be super small in the corner. I decided to try printing from my computer, which resolved the sizing issue! However, even though the print was now the right size, it was horribly discolored and darkened:

I then called customer service and spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out what was going on. It turned out to be a simple matter of where I was placing the painting on the scanner bed. After we adjusted that we were able to get a fairly good print! I was able to do this yesterday, but because of the sizing issue I was only able to print a small picture on a large page and then cut each one, which was tedious and also wasted a lot of paper. So, putting in 4x6 sized paper and having it come out all ready to go is much better.

I spent a couple hours working on this in the morning, and in the afternoon worked on my concentration paper and prepared for my concentration demonstration I'm going to set up in the library tomorrow. Later, I went into campus and worked on my paper some more, and then went to musical rehearsal. Afterwards, I stopped by the studio for a bit.

Here are a few more pictures from today- most of there are test prints, and you can see discoloration in some of them that I need to fix. I'm hoping to be able to deepen the saturation of the prints, because even the best ones I got were not quite as vibrant as the original paintings. 

Overall, it was a pretty good day. I'm hoping to do more ceramics in the coming days.

12:30 pm to 1:00 pm: concentration paper and demo preparation

2:30 pm to 4:30 pm: concentration paper

5:30 pm to 7:00 pm: musical rehearsal
